San Francisco Municipal Agency’s investment in dedicated cycling infrastructure boosted active transportation. A bike counter display shows increases in cycling to the public on Market Street.
Following the installation of bike lanes on Market Street, instead of seeing one bike for every three cars, there is now only one car for every three bikes. The bike count display shows the demand for active transportation to the public. There are many other counters placed throughout the city that help the San Francisco Municipal Agency measure cycling demand and the impact of bike lane improvements.
The counts for Market Street are also viewable online on a Public Webpage.
